Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 1, 2026
Walking With Others (“WWO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of everyone who visits our website, contacts us, partners with us, or supports our mission. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to walkingwithothers.org and to information we collect through contact forms, lead forms used in our advertising, email communications, and donation processing.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Contact and partnership inquiries — name, email address, phone number, organization name, role, and the content of your message
- Lead form submissions (including forms submitted through Google Ads) — name, email address, phone number, organization name, and your response to any qualifying question we ask
- Donations — name, email address, mailing address, and payment information. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor and are not stored on WWO’s own systems
- Newsletter and mailing list signups — name and email address
Information collected automatically:
- Standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking)
Information from third parties:
- If you submit a lead form through a Google Ads campaign, Google shares the information you provided in that form with WWO so we can follow up with you
2. How We Use Information
- Respond to your questions and inquiries
- Evaluate and pursue partnership opportunities with organizations interested in the Emmaus Initiative
- Process donations and send tax-deductible gift receipts
- Send newsletters, program updates, and impact reports to those who have opted in
- Understand how our website and advertising are performing, so we can use our resources effectively
- Comply with legal, accounting, and reporting obligations
We do not use the information we collect to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate — for example, our email delivery platform, donation/payment processor, and website and advertising tools (including Google Ads and Google Analytics) — who are contractually limited to using it on our behalf
- With partner organizations, but only where you have specifically engaged with a joint program and only to the extent needed to support that engagement
- If required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WWO, our partners, or the public
- In connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of WWO’s operations, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information
4. Cookies and Advertising Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand site usage and measure the effectiveness of our Google Ad Grants advertising, including which pages and forms lead to meaningful engagement. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may limit some site functionality. We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles about you outside of standard Google Ads and Analytics reporting.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, financial and tax records related to donations). When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any newsletter or update
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion, subject to legal recordkeeping requirements (for example, we may need to retain donation records for tax purposes)
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable state or national privacy law
To exercise any of these choices, contact us using the information in Section 10.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our website and forms are intended for organizational representatives, donors, and other adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Links to Other Websites
Our website and communications may link to third-party websites, including partner organizations and payment processors. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their own privacy practices.
